The Components:
Fresh Peach Daiquiris are easy to make and only require a handful of fresh ingredients!
- Rum - We like to use a good-quality white rum for this recipe. White rum (AKA silver or light rum) has a mild, subtly sweet and grassy flavor. If you'd like, you can substitute rhum agricole for a more herbaceous and vegetal flavor. Dark rum can be used, as well. However, dark rum will yield vastly different results. Dark rums are barrel-aged and will have a darker color and a richer molasses flavor with subtle notes of baking spice and vanilla. We do not recommend using spiced rum for this cocktail.
- Lime Juice - Freshly squeezed lime juice is paramount in a classic daiquiri preparation. While less traditional, lemon juice can also be used.
- Peach Syrup - At the end of each Summer, we love to transform our delicious, ripe peaches into a simple syrup. See the full peach syrup recipe post for more serving ideas!
Garnish
For a pretty-in-peach finishing touch, we recommend adding a little garnish to this cocktail. We chose to garnish our Peach Daiquiri with a simple lime wheel. However, a fresh peach slice on the rim of the glass or a sprig of mint would also look lovely!
Up or On the Rocks?
Classically, daiquiris are served in coupe or Nick and Nora type glass. We like to enjoy our Peach Daiquiris this way, as photographed. If you prefer, feel free to strain your daiquiris over a glass filled with fresh ice.
